Are you missing one or more of your pearly white teeth? Do your missing teeth make your smile seem older than you really are? There could be a reason behind that. Once you have lost all of your teeth, your facial muscles can begin to sag. The good news is that dentures can help fill out your face and may help your overall appearance.
Dentures are a removable appliance that can be used to restore your smile if you are missing teeth. There are three different kinds of dentures that are widely used: conventional, immediate and partial.
-Conventional: A conventional denture is put into your mouth only after all of your teeth have been removed and your mouth has healed. This could take several months, during which time you could be without teeth.
-Immediate: A removable denture that you can receive shortly after the remaining teeth have been removed. This could drastically reduce the time you spend without teeth, but because your mouth is still healing, these dentures must be relined or even remade after a few months.
-Partial: A partial denture sits on a metal frame and is meant to replace a few missing teeth. It attaches to the neighboring natural teeth, which may require crowns to serve as anchors. This denture is an alternative to a dental bridge.
